Cala di Sant'Andrea, in the Asinara National Park, is a coastal inlet in the south-eastern part of the island, characterized by granite rocky outcrops and a wonderful white sand beach with the crystalline blue and turquoise colors of the sea. Due to its exceptional beauty and naturalistic-environmental interest it is a Zone A of the park, where access is not permitted even on foot, except for operations strictly linked to the management of the Park. It can be admired by following the so-called "granite path", which starting from Fornelli runs almost parallel to the coastline of the south-eastern part of the island, and passes by Zone A of Cala Sant'Andrea, which also includes a pond behind the dunes of brackish water, where it is possible to observe a rich avifauna. Along the way between the Paleozoic granite formations, characteristic vegetation grows with beautiful specimens of juniper and an exuberant scrub dominated by tree euphorbias and numerous coastal endemics.
