Unfortunately, Playa Frijolar is situated in a remote location near the town of Marbella, in the District of Cuajiniquil, Canton of Santa Cruz, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The only way to access the area and move around Guanacaste is by car, but even then, the final 20 km (12.5 miles) of dirt road to reach Marbella is a treacherous journey, especially if you are coming from Santa Cruz or the northern beaches. Although a 4WD SUV is recommended, you can attempt the drive in a regular automobile at your own risk. If you are coming from San José and its surrounding areas, you must take the route to Santa Cruz in Guanacaste, which is a long and tedious journey. Even if you fly into Liberia International Airport, it still takes around 1.5 hours to reach the place, which is not worth the effort.
Moreover, the beach itself
