However, if you have a more laid-back, hippie vibe like I do, this isn't the place for you. The area is filled with older folks strolling with their grandkids among the numerous upscale bars and restaurants. I spent five days here only because a friend invited me, but I definitely won't be returning.

This beach near Benalmadena was far from appealing when we first arrived with our family of 7. It was rocky and full of large stones near the shore, making it difficult to find a spot to settle in. Although the water was clean and clear, with fish swimming about, it was still a far cry from being a good beach. We had a small picnic and spent most of our time in the water, but even with a snorkel mask, it wouldn't have made much of a difference. The atmosphere was quiet and all seemed to mind their own business, but the restaurant nearby didn't seem to care.
