Beautiful and usually empty beach.
No lifeguards.
Strong currents, swimming only safe during high tide.
Tidal pools on the Piha side, where you can find crabs, starfish, and anemones.
Cave and sandy pools on the Anawhata side.
Short track with panoramic views.
Recommendations:
Wear sturdy shoes with good grip for the coastal track.
Be aware of the tides.
Do not swim during low tide.
Check the surf report.
Be careful of the waves on the Piha side.
Do not disturb nesting birds.
Bring everything you need, as there are no toilets or water on the beach.
There is parking and a toilet at Anawhata Rd.

Anawhata Rd is a gravel road, narrow and winding.
